Arthurian Legend

Celtic Mythology

The Llanrhaeadr Dragon!

Tan-y-Pistyll means 'little house under the waterfall'.

We are situated in our own parkland setting of 120 acres, which encompasses the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall complex and retreat  camping ground.

The scenery is breathtaking, surrounded on both sides by sheer cliffs and woods. The building was listed in a survey that was carried out  in 1724. It was reported to be owned a local abbey and was probably used as a remote retreat cell.

Accommodation at Pistyll Rhaeadr

Thanks to our central location in Mid-Wales we are often used as a base for people (especially walkers) from which to tour many parts of Wales. There are a huge number of visitor attractions within an hour's drive.

The ground floor contains a rustic-style cosy restaurant and tearoom offering good home cooked meals every day of the week, all year round. Opening hours are adjusted to the time of year. Both facilities can remain open later than usual to suit guests, if requested
